Unhappy Blown Head Gasket?

I'm loosing coolent but no visible leaks. I'm getting oil in my coolent. Can it be anything else besides a blown head gasket?

I suppose it could possibly be a leaky intake manifold gasket or a cracked block. Either way, oil in the coolant is not a good sign.

Hope that a blown head gasket is the only problem. A cracked water jacket will do the same thing....but alot more expensive to replace. Unfortunately, there isn't really anyway to tell until you replace the head gaskets and then the prob still exists.

Good luck

Thanks guys.

Any chance that it could be the auto. trans. oil mixing with the coolant in the radiator through the automatic trans. oil cooling system? I checked the trans. dip stick. The oil looked clear and not milky.

Doubtful....the tranny cooling system is seperate from the normal cooling system. It runs the tranny fluid through its own radiator that monts usually in front of the main radiator.
