Question Cat-Back System

I was really thinking about getting a Cat- Back System for my 03 Expy, but I looked at the size of my tailpipe, and rethought it. The reason I wanted the Cat-Back was more for a little performance not the extra sound, and if I wanted the better looks, I would just buy a stainless tip for the pipe. I put on a K&N Filtercharger system and did a notice a little performance improvement as well as a little better gas mileage. But mileage is just how you drive your truck, and if it is working properly...we all know that. How many have put on the Cat-Back and noticed a performance change? It's only about $350, but that is money I could put in for new rims, or sound system.

I have a K&N and a Gibson Dual Exhaust, I definitely got more power (and rumble) but expect worse MPG

I would expect a K&N filter and aftermarket exhaust to enhance your gas mileage, not hurt it? Better airflow into your intake and less back pressure in your exhaust system will help your mpg.

The reason why it hurts is with the added power and sound you have a heavier foot.
