You guys kick butt!
yeah thats a funny story but cruel.a coworker told me about a time that his father just purchased a new tractor, that very night a guy went in the ditch a came to his house to ask for a tug to get out,he said ok and went to pull the guy out with his new tractor.when he got to the guys car and was ready to hook the chain the guy turned into a real jerk because he didnt want the paint scratched on his new $10,000 car.well my friends father said he really didnt want to scracth the drawbar on his new $20,000 dollar tractor and put the chain back on the tractor and drove back home!
Years ago I had a former friend of mine who was always using Found On Road Dead to describe my 74 f100 4x4. He called me 2 or 3 times to come pull his Chebbie 2wd outta the Mud. I would make him crawl some but I always pulled him out. On the 2nd day after I got my 04 SCrew I pulled a van out of a ditch. I was a little worried I might nick it but what the heck, whats a 4wd for right? --Jack
My "woman driver" story is the day after my husband replaced my brake assist unit on my '77 F150 and I was on my way to take a test for a job. My family left the house about a half hour prior to my departure for a high school competition out of town and we had no cell phones.
Anyways, I got about seven miles down the road when I felt a drag on my truck. I slowed way down and finally decided this was a bad situation and better try to return home. The brakes continued to drag getting worse by the minute. I knew I would not make it anywhere and I pulled off the road the best I could.
I was stranded. It made me more than uneasy when approached by strangers that offered to take me anywhere for help. I grew up with a lot of general automotive know-how and after watching my husband replace the unit the night before, I was determined that I could somehow fix this.
I found some missfit tools in the glovebox and crawled into the engine compartment. I did what it needed and got the pressure off the brakes. Home I ran without touching the brakes again until I reached my house.
I want to thank all the strangers for the offer of assistance, there very special people in this day and age.
Just don't be affended if a lady refuses the assistance. We just need to be careful.
By the way, I was offered assistance by two gentlemen that I had no fear of, they both were in a expensive sports car and wearing designer suits. I thanked them for the offer of the cell phone call, but no one was home I could call.
THANKS TO ALL YOU WHO HELP THOSE IN NEED!

I helped a feller in a Taurus today. I figured out that his starter was about shot, and I didn't have a hammer, so he called somebody with some tools and tapped the starter and she fired right up.
