Just got a new SD250, my old one had marker lights. When I looked at the new one there was something missing. Went to the dealer orded the parts, 5 lights and one wire harness ($75). I climbed on a truck in the lot and took a bunch of measurements. Went home got some shiping wrap paper and taped it to the top of the roof. layed out all the holes and remeasured for two hours. :-) I pulled the headliner down...now completely shaking in my boots I drilled into the roof of my new truck with 300 miles on it. Everything good up until it came time for the center hole of 7/8" had to be drilled. As my wife came out to check on things, she sees pig tails come up from the roof. Thank god for half-rounds. Anyway after some seriours de-buring and painting of the new holes the lights were installed (only one was over torqed) with the wire harness going to the driverside with no were to plug it in. It turned out the wire need to be routed to the pass. side...on problem plug it in, light work. It was fun....but really stressfull when it came to the 7/8".
Thanks for reading I just wanted to tell someone about my new marker lights.
My dealer set me up with the correct nuts, I think they are pressure nuts. Anyway the part number for the nuts are
N621903-S301, description NUT&WAS 375049. The torque? I just did not crank it as hard the second time. :-)
I also put a stop on the drill bit...can not be to safe.

I bought a 2001 F250SD with the 5.4 V8 off the lot and it came complete with marker lights so I dont think the marker lights indicate anything as far as how the truck is set up. Just FYI
The clearance lights (or marker lights) are a $55 option on all SD's except duallys, I think they're required because of the width.
For punching the 7/8" holes go to an electrical supply store or maybe HD has these things called "punch outs". That's what we used to call them. You drill a 3/8" hole, put in the punch out and tighten it with a wrench. It cuts the round hole with no heat and it's a very clean cut. I'm not sure what your calling "half rounds", maybe the same thing. Makes a nice clean hole and you don't have the panic attacks a big drill and a Dremel can give you.

Rob, I never heard of that until now. I wish I knew about it before the project, I am sure it would have helped. Next I will order the truck with them already installed. But it is kind of cool to look at them and say "I put those on." The half round is a file that I used to de-burr the hole, nothing special.
Its according to the dealer you go to if the PSD 250's have marker lights or not, some dealers I went to all 250's on the lot had marker lights. Personally I didn't want them.
