I am the owner of a 1999 F-350 Crew Cab Duallie 8 foot bed. I put on a snugtop cap and have had to have it repaired for cracking -people have been telling me that because the body of this truck is so big - it flexes therefore something on that bed of
the truck has got to give - hence the cap keeps cracking - has anyone else experienced any problems with snugtop????
Sorry i forgot to add the fact that snugtop replaced my original cap and this new one is cracking in the same place - truck never goes off road and is completely babied!
I have got the SnugTop Expo. The cracks are located when you open the rear glass,look toward the top of the glass - where it curves I can see stress cracks in the paint.
Other cracks have been in the corners, not to mention that my rear glass blew out for no reason(that was the old cap). The new one I got (same model) is starting to crack in the same places. I was wondering if the duallie because of its wide base is causing this. The cap has been off the truck more than on - cant figure out whats going on. I was told with the first cap that it was mfg in their missouri plant, which since the quality of
caps coming out of there is poor (hence why they shut down) the new one is coming from california and will be completely different. I'm at a loss - im ready to leave it alone - let it fall off and put a lid on it! I am already 2400.00 into this cap (2000 plus 400 for shipping on the second)
