^ ouch...that aint to good to do. a guy i know had an older cavilier and did a 4000 rpm drop...had it in neutral and dropped it in drive. took out the tranny. nuttin left of it. blew the ***** outta it.
i just had one today i have a 72 caddy with 500ci main bored and stroked to 539 with a 1471 roots blower. i met this ricer that thought his honda was the fastest car in town this guy had been hammering me for about a month and i finally gave in i dont usaly street race but i wanted to shut him up i normaly only race at the track it was kind of an unfair race cause the caddy does 7s in the quarter but it was fun and he wont bother me no more
What's really funny is after i smoked a ricer w/my Superduty, is how when they finally catch up is they have to try and prove how fast their car is by weaving in and out of traffic.Of course this is fruitless because it has already been proven. Some of them you just have to show them twice.
I have one race story.. it was the only time I ever raced someone...
I was driving a 67 Ford Galaxy 500 7 litre...
Raced a Mustang 5 litre
Of course I won but the best part is
Later that day my brother who was living with me at the time came home and asked me if I raced some guy in a mustang.. I said yes..
The guy was a friend of my brother and was ****ed that a chick had beaten him...
Boy that felt good!
The galaxy was a fast car!
In my younger days, I partook of the midnight drags. Several times.
In my first race, I was driving my 87 2 door Tempo with a 2.3 and a 5 speed against my buddy in a 69 Datsun 510 with a "done" 2.0. I spanked him twice.
About a year later, I beat an 87? Monte Carlo SS with my 92 5.0 Mustang.
Those were the only 2 times I actually raced anyone.
Now, the only racing I do is against the clock, trying to cut a 3 1/2 hour drive down to 3 or less.
in one my friend with the bronco says" Watch me do a wheelie!" he dumps the clutch, and busts a side off the driveshaft yolk, and 2 sides off the U-joint. Laughed my **** off and he drove it to the shop with the front wheels.
second, in the same bronco, we pulled up next to a saturn or something with a wing. We reved the engine(keep in mind we ar about 4 feet taller than him) My buddy revvs the engine, turns the key off and pumps the gas, then starts it again. It backfired about 2 feet from the guys open windows. He screamed liek a little girl. We sat there laughing really hard while he took off and wouldn't even look at us at the next light.
thats awesome, bet he won't mess with big trucks anymore. some truck backfired in front of me today. scared me cause it sounded like a gun, but it was great. -William

(79driver) i never have raced, but i;m going to in a week or so. What do you think: 97 F-150 with 5.4, limited slip, stock except for 32 inch mud terrains VS. my 79 f-150 with 460 and ARB locker in rear. I also got mud tires. Its actualy going to be a tug of war in an open field. tell me what you think.
79driver, just a word of caution for you, if you do a tug of war, if you use rope,or cable, make sure you tie rags every three foot on the rope/cable this will keep it from acting like a rubber band in case it breaks. over in haspen acres,IND. a truck was pulling another truck out of a mud bog , they used a cable hook up. when the first truck started pulling, the cable stretched, then snapped, it recoiled back, breaking the back window of the truck, striking the driver in the head, killing him. true story, maybe others here have heard about it. what happens when you tie rags it breaks up the recoil. rope/cable do stretch. just a word of caution. have fun but live to brag!
the other day i was stoped at the light and some chick pulls up in one of them newer blazers and revs it up at me. i was surprised she didnt seem like the type lol. ok so it was on i through one back at the chebbie with my 351w true duals glasspacks. the light turned green and we both gunned it at about the first 2 seconds the blazer kept up with me then after that i blew the doors of it. i know i know those new blazers only probaly have v6 in them but it was still fun
Its awesome when you blow them away when you wanted to race, but whats even better is when someone else thinks their car is all that and you smoke it. Or when you pas someone and look in the rear view mirror and see them all ****ed off because you beat them. The only thing is, you werent even trying to race.
