The exterior door trim on my 98 Ranger (and others I have seen) fades really badly. It was black and faded to white in about 3-4 years. The trim I am speaking of is the one right below the window (passenger side part # F37Z1021452A). I noticed on later models (maybe 1999 or 2000 on) that Ford changed the trim so the hard plastic that is right above the lock cylinder is a different size and shape. I was wondering if anyone has replaced this part on a ‘98 with the newer type. If so what was the year it came from and part number? Or does this newer type part also fade?
Rick
I wouldnt know...I bought my truck in 2000 and didnt pay attention to the door trim or its color...couple cans of spray paint along with a primer and primer sealer took care of any fading that may have been present You may want to consider getting your whole interior done at a custom upholstery shop...since there are none on kauai we are left with cheaper, more barbaric ways of doing things. But thats only if your newer door trim conversion doesnt work out...
