Hey boys- I'm in search of some less expendsive interior options then buying the origonal door panels and head liner. The truck currently has no headliner(ruling out the makover products) and no door panels. Thought maybe you guys could come up with something resourcefult to make some door panels and a headliner out of. I've given thought to using aluminum diamond plate for the door panels, but I don't have a durn clue on the headliner with my college boy budget. Building a truck while going to Cal Poly is tough
you could do what i am in the process of doing..use thin wood paneling..carpeting..and 3M adhesive...along with a hand jigsaw..a tape measure..and a few misc. parts to make patterns out of cardboard and make your own full door panels..or cut to the size of the original door panels..then cut and carpet a kicker section for the bottom of the door not covered
. The good thing is it is cheap...you can get exactly what you want..and you could make a center console with cupholders...transfer case slot...for the shifter..guages...etc. I am doing it with no job and that is a budget crisis too..so i am sure you could do it on a college budget. Good luck..have fun..and keep us updated
