97 F250 HD
This question has probably been asked before but: Why are there never or hardly ever any mod parts for a 97HD F250 in 4x4 and offroad mags. I see lots of listings for up to '96 and then '98 on? Its almost like this truck doesn't exist.

That's because in 1997, there were 2 F250's available. They list parts that way to avoid a confusion between the two as they are completely different. In 97, you could get a 1997 F250 HD that has the same specs and body as a 1992-1996 F250's or a 1997 F250 LD that as upgraded specs and body of a 1996-2003 F150. Parts for a 1992-1996 F250 HD will work on yours.

And don't worry, all of us who have the 97 hd models have the same complex! I too gave up telling over and over that my truck was "old" body style and was heavy duty. "They didn't make one" was always the reply.
With that said, just tell them its a 96 and you'll find what you need.

I just thought about one caveat of claiming to have a '96 (when it's really a '97) that you MIGHT need to be aware of....
Sometime in the '97 production run, Ford changed transfer cases from the BW1356 to the BW4407. So, if you need anything for that area of the driveline, be sure to confirm which transfer case you have and ask for the correct parts.
