Subwoofer installation

I have a 1999 F-150 Sport 4x4. It has the factory in dash cd player. I want to install a bazooka type powered subwoofer to get a little more kick. I would like to keep the dash looking stock. Is there a way to hook up the powered sub to the factory player? Would I need to make any modifications? Will it hurt the factory cd player? I don't want to ruin the look of the dash by installing an aftermarket cd player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You would have to hook it up to one of the rear speaker outputs.

Yeah, you can splice in a line level converter from the original stereo speaker outputs to give you an RCA output for the amp. If you have captains chairs with the center console, JL Audio has a stealth box that replaces it with a hidden 10" or 8" sub, but it is very expensive. You can also fit a box behind the seats (regular cab) or under the rear bench (supercab). Good luck, hope that helps.
