I ordered a 250 lariat v-10 auto with some goodies on 5/24
I was given a vin # 6/22. I think I should be getting a call from the dealer soon. Thanks, Bill
Great, I was thinking of the V10 but was too wary of the mileage. 5.4 felt fine on the test drive in an 01, auto. I figure the 6-spd should give it a little more versatility. I will be using it primarily as a commuter with occasional toy hauling. Let me know how it is when you pick up yours. It sounds as though you may be getting it before I. This final month is going to feel like an eternity.
Just got a call from the dealer. 8/27 is the delivery date. I ordered it 5/24 as a 2001 but was informed 3 weeks later that the build would be a 2002, so with retooling and July vacations it was not to bad.
I ordered F350 Lariat V10 on June 26, and dealer says will probably be in next week. While there today, it looks like they have at least 4 on the lot. I took a few pictures of a Dark Shadow Gray F250. Check it out at:
Local dealer in Cleveland Ga. has a few in stock .Went to look at them and the headlights are different and there is a temp gague for the auto trans. they look like the 2001 that is the only change I saw . they will have a king cab in the 450 and 550 this year. Jackie Jones Ford.

Edmunds pages mention "roof ride handles" that are now standard on the '02 350. Anybody know what these are?
I'm pretty sure that those are what we used to call "Oh <expletive> handles". They are handles mounted above the doors that you can use to help get into/out of the truck, or to hold onto when going around corners or on rough off-road terrain. Previously, the SD's didn't have them over all of the doors. Supposedly, they do now.
