If you have one, and I hope you do, it is located behind the glove box, it drops out toward the floor. There was an extensive thread on this some time ago, a search will find this for you.
I have the same model . Maybe it doesn't have one? I asked the dealers parts guy if it had one and he said it did and sold me a filter for $50.00 . I guess I will get my money back!
The filter was always a dealer or owner-installed option. Never standard equipment or a factory-installed option. 99% chance that you don't have the filter.
I just bought a 2000 Navigator. I saw a CAF on Frams list of filters for it and wondered where mine was. I did a search yesterday thru the old posts on the cabin filter. Here is a summary of what I found.
There was a kit offered thru parts, Ford part number F65Z-18 D477AA. (I have to put a space bewteen the 8 and the D or a smiley shows up!)
It includes a templete for cutting the slot and a cover to seal over the filter. It is now discontinued, so you would have to find an old one in dealer stock somewhere.
On my Navigator, under the glove box is a plastic panel held in with 3 plastic keepers. I removed the keepers and pulled the panel off. I found a slot about 8-10" long and 3/4 " wide. I can also see studs for screws surrounding the slot, I assume these are for securing the cover. It looks like a simple operation, if one had the kit.
So the answer to most owners is that we do not have the filter installed.
