Well I have had my truck for almost a year now and she has come a long way and still has a long way to go. I am always seeing all these old adds for our trucks that say they "ride like a car" Well mine steers fine and rides fine, but when I hit a bump the back makes a LOT of noise. I havent really done any research on suspension yet since when I got my truck I only knew how to put gas in it. So I have come a long way as far as my mechanical skills are concerned. What can I do to quiet down the ride? Springs, leaf springs, shocks?
Thanks
Ben
Hey, if you want quiet, then buy a Lexus (but think of all the fun you would be mising)! Seriously, I would first crawl under there and see if anything is loose, like a spare tire holder, etc. Also, have someone rock it/jump in it while you listen for noises, this might save you a lot of cash.
LOL Lexus huh? Na I think I will just stick with the truck. I like knowing that I am actually driving a vehicle. When you drive these old trucks and then drive a new vehicle it feels too much like you are playing a video game. My spare tire holder is long gone so thats not it. Ill get under the old gal this weekend and see if I can tighten up some stuff.

I can't agree with you more on "driving" these trucks! I've got a '65 Custom cab with three on the tree, manual brakes, manual steering, and lots of power from the V8. Makes it hard to talk on a cell phone, or eat/drink, etc. , but you shouldn't be doing that anyway! Lots of luck to you!
I hear ya guys! I've added power disc brakes, bigger rear drums, power steering, radials on stock '93 aluminum rims and my '66 rides and drives BETTER than many cars! The 131" wheelbase helps too! NEWMEX, I'll bet some of the rattling you are hearing is tailgate rattle. Mine does it too. Your 3/4 ton suspension is going to contribute to some stiffness and rattles especially when empty too.
