Does anybody have Softride Coil Springs on your superduty trucks.?

I have a 2006 F-250 diesel 4X4 with a 6" fabtech lift. It rides like a sherman tank on rough highways and roads. Rancho 9000 shocks set on 1 except when truck is loaded up or pulling.

I've been looking at some springs that are available for it, and hope some of you have experience with them.

(A) Top Gun makes a 6" lift multirate spring that they claim has a better ride than the stock coils from Ford.

(B) Carli also makes a multirate spring in a 5-1/2" lift size.

Is the rubber bushing that the springs seat into make a difference on how it rides.? Any recomendations will be highly appreciated, Mark....

I got the Skyjacker softride springs and skyjacker shocks. Rides about as nice as stock. Granted I only have a 2.5" lift though.

Did the springs settle out much.?
The ride is not bad on smooth roads, but the springs hardly move at all. The tires are by far the biggest player on smoothing out the ride. If I put 45 psi or more in tires its rough, and I mean rough!!
Tires on it are toyo open country m/t 38/15.50/18 the pressure I am running now is:
40psi front
30psi rear

Surely milage would go up if inflated where they should be.

Not that I noticed. I only used the coils in the front I didn't mess with the leafs out back.
Using the Skyjacker coils was recommended by a friend who used them. I was nervous about the ride quality suffering because of past experiences.

Yeah, I agree the tires have a big part in it as well.

Icon ? are they a suspension lift spring. Are they progressive/multirate and how do you compare them to the stock ride?

Icon is THE top tier company for Superduty lifts

don't know about stock. I bought her lifted. Wife only minimally gripes about the ride. So it can't be that bad. Ive got the Icon 4.5". It handles the weight of my 6.0 pretty easily

Found their website, the springs are progressive for sure. Looks like top quality stuff.
I bought my truck already lifted as well, I am guessing on the 6" lift height. The blocks in the back are 5" and did manage to fit 38/15.50 tires under it.

Tylus can you do me a huge favor and measure your spring height on the front coils. My front coils are 22" from axle to the top mounts. The springs are .850 diameter coils, and I think they might actually be tuff-country lift stuff.

keep in mind that my truck has a 4.5" lift kit...which makes sense because your measurements are about 2" taller than what I just got
from the lower spring perch to the rubber isolator my springs are 19.5" to 20"

it's kinda hard to find a common place where you and I would measure the same spots

My rear blocks are 5.5" tall as well. My truck sits perfectly level looking...strange

Had the pics already. When I bought the truck in August the Dealership told me it had a 7" lift installed

I believed them...well because the truck is freakin' massive. But after a few days surfing the F-250 section here I noticed my truck is rather "small" in comparison. So I snapped some pics and asked the guru's here.

They helped me identify the kit is actually a 4.5" Donahoe Racing (Icon back in the day)

21-1/2 -22" is the spring only. So that would put me at 6" of lift I would have to figure.

Yea, I agree with you. They are pretty high stock, doesn' take much lift to need electric fold out steps. Ok if yours is 4-1/2 for sure the math works on 6".
Guess now the question is can I purchace coils only. Should probably replace the rubbers on top too.

Ok Tylus, thanks for the information on the coil springs. Ordered this morning through KLM, the springs come in 7" lift progressive coils and price shipped was $312.00.
Looking forward to installing them and having a better behaving truck. Thanks again Mark.....
