can someone give me aprox. HP & torque for this build. thanks in advance for any help. 460 bored .30 d3 heads ported on exaust side to remove bump, 9.5 comp. flat tops, comp cams 4x4 ext. cam with 218/226 dur.@ .50 and 515/524 lift, stealth intake (non CJ) and 770 truck avenger. Thanks for any aprox. numbers .
Honestly I'm a little dissapointed in the numbers this cam is making. I reran the sim with a Lunati Avenger (p/n 90460LUN) and the numbers jumped considerably.
The numbers are actually pretty good for a relatively stock low-rpm specific build. You're within a hair's breadth of 500 lb-ft torque, and that's at a leisurely 3500 rpm! If you didn't mind the torque curve peaking at a slightly higher RPM - maybe 4000 or so - you could easily surpass the 500 lb-ft barrier, but you would begin to lose some of that all-important low-rpm tractability.
About the only thing I could suggest would be to spend a couple of bucks on a good port-matching job. Also, stick with small-tube primaries on your headers to maximize cylinder scavenging for better low-rpm response.
Don't get discouraged. Everyone always dreams big HP numbers that often don't pan out. We've all been there. Be satisfied knowing everyone else is in the same boat with you!
thanks again Brad i was a little dissapointed with the comp cam #'s but over all i think it will work well for my truck. I have a 79 F-150 swb with C6 lockers in front and rear 38's and 456 gears. thanks again for the #'s i have seen alot of good info on this forum. matt
