93 explorer codes

Need help 1993 explorer
1) Is it possible to t/s codes with just an ohm meter or is it
better to go pay big bucks for dealer to read codes? or perhaps
an auto zone code reader??
2) does anyone know the stock part number for 1993 explorer cd player?
3) rough idle poor gas milege- change plugs, plug wires no help
which test does one need to do?
4) keyless remote is it better to get a stock one out of a used explorer or can say a bulldog aftermarket one be added in without total wire smokin.
Any all help needed and appreciated Thx Ron

For what I know:
#1) Yes it is possible to run the self-tests with and ohm meter and a piece of jumper wire. See www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html for the basic procedure. It doesn't have any circuit tests and the code lists aren't year/model specific, but the basic procedure is there.
#3) Could be many things. Clean MAF and IAC. test TPS. compression check. fuel pressure check. EEC-IV self-tests (see #1)
