1994 460 engine changes

Does anyone know what changes were made to the 460 for 1994? I have a 92 F350 with a 460 and it is rated at 230 hp while the 94 is rated at 245. Is the change something simple that I can do?

If I remember corectly It was a head design change. Exhaust port is larger and maybe the valves are too. There was a post recently on this issue. Some of the people her know for sure

93 on up are Fast Burn heads with bigger valves. The heads are interchangeable, you just drop a ponies going to the older(E7TE) heads Vs the newer F3TE heads.

c_rossman You may know but I have the 89 EFI 460 and I was told not to port the heads because I would easily did into a water passage. What are the odds of this with my heads verses the older styles

Actually the 88-92 heads are better for porting than the 93-97 because when ford designed the first heads for EFI service, they just filled the ports with iron to make the ports smaller for increased velocity.
