Angry 2.9 87 ranger

My truck sputters in and out of gear. when ever stress is on motor, anykind of stress. It sputters for about 20 secs. and clears up by its self.It does this about 3 times in a 1mile strech. But it clears up right away if I floor it.I have replaced all the basics , tuned it up . I changed the mapsen., the tps ,the wirers ,and plugs.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. After you re-connect it, the computer will re-learn the settings.
If that doesn't work, pull the codes.

Getting a code reader from AutoZone, WalMart, etc. is the easiest way. It'll plug into a connection under the hood. They come with a "how-to" book which includes definitions of codes you get.

Just in case you haven't looked yet, go to the "Technical Information" sticky at the top of this board & look up pulling EEC-IV codes.

It sounds like you didn't have it in neutral, 67 and you have an EGR problem, 33. Run the pinpoint test for the code 33.

I had it in neutral but now it's reading code 11 and 67 but not 33 even though I dont have my EGR return coming from the manifold on.

another thing to try is make sure that your fuel pressure regulator isn't leaking fuel to the vacuum line.

can't say that that would be the problem, just another place to look. I've had a couple of fords do that now. if you have the motor running and disconnect the vacuum line at the regulator, gas will seep out if it's bad. my 2.9 did that, if I pushed the gas pedal down to the floor if would blow out the extra gas and run good for a little bit. also couldn't idle worth a darn.
