Gauge lights quit working
My fuse blew yesterday for my gauge lights on my 86 f250 . I pulled out the gauges and checked all the lights and they are fine. My manual shows a light blue w/ red wire for the gauge lights from the fuse box and light switch. Is there any thing else this hooks to? Any suggestions on what to look for.
I checked voltage at the fuse (5 amp) and on one post it has 12v the other post is grounded. Thanks

obviously the wire from the fuse to the dash is grounding out somewhere. the test i do is hook up a test light across the fuse terminal and start unplugging stuff untill the light goes out the light should be on when the switch is on because there is suposed to be current flowing. might be a bad switch, worn insulation on the wire grounding, wires melted together, corosion on the printed circuit of the cluster crossing over into another circuit. i hate problems like this. does it blow the fuse only when the switch is on? i believe that circuit also goes to the stereo and heater pannel lights. happy hunting!!!
