1st off I want to apologize for one of the most redundant questions and topics posted within this board. Now, with that out of the way what is the correct “Green” coolant for a 2000 PSD. (Name brad please) 2nd question. If memory serves (I’ll be 40 in 5 days so the memory isn’t what she once was) the “Gold” 100k mile coolant can be used in a 2000 if you perform a complete cooling system flush, is this still so??? If I can use it please provide the name brad and quantity I will need for the job. As always that you for any and all help. Jeff in NM…OUT
I was at the dealer today and was advised that if you start with green, you stay with green. He said no to the flush and change. Told me about a customer who did this and ended up destroying the engine. Truth? I don't know, but I thought Ford put something out about this change being ok?
Remember to add the anti-cavative additive to your coolant. Your local parts store should have it. Otherwise the vibrations from the dieseling creates air bubbles on the cylenders walls and it rusts away until you start leaking coolant into your oil. Cheap preventative fix for a 7200 dollar PSD engine.
how do you know if the additive has been added, i bought my truck about three months ago from a ford dealer, the truck was an 02, not new, it was used and had 40K miles on it, is there a tester you can get to check it out, or should i assume that the coolant is still from the factory and they have added the additive?

I purchased an additive from NAPA. It states that it is an anti-cavitation and anti-corrsion additive. It has an NAPA label on it. Will this work or do we need a specific brand/type? Also how much of coolant and how much of additive do we add? I have the test strips from NAPA to measure but was curious what mixture to start with. Thanks in advance.
