i'm beginning to think that the reason i can't make sense of my 82's engine management stuff is that it's all wrong.
i have a feedback carburetor, but no O2 sensor. i have the universal ign module (yellow plug) with a BARO or ALT sensor (can't tell which), but no MCU.
my plan is to replace the carb with a non-feedback 1-bbl, and simplify the vacuum lines. i want the EGR, thermactor and EVAP stuff to work. i want conventional ignition, no playing around with computer-controlled vacuum or any kind of mischief like that.
has anyone else done a complete re-do on their truck? maybe this could be a sticky thread, since there's a lot of people bitching about all the emissions stuff.
