Front End Noise

Whenever I back up my truck and make a sharp turn in the process there seems to be a popping coming from the front end. Also when I am making slow sharp turns in forward gears I get the popping also. What could this be?

It is possible that the front outer u-joints going to the spindles need to be replaced.

Are the hubs locked in, or are you in 4wd? If so, it sounds like u-joints. If not, it could be tie rod ends or ball joints. Can you feel the popping in the steering wheel or anywhere else? If it doesn't pop in 2wd with the hubs out, it probably isn't the front joints. It could be a wheel bearing or thrust bearing.
