i have a 97 F-150 (just recovered from the dreaded gasket failure).
Here is my new problem, when i am in gear and stopped at a light for a few seconds my truck starts to idle real rough and shakes the whole vehicle. my rpms is at 500 while this is happening. i will throw the truck into neutral and most of the time it will stop and i notice my rpms will go up to about 750. Do i need to adjust my idle or is it something else.
im not sure about this engine but there should be an idle air control valve somewhere near the throttle body on the intake, try taking it off and cleaning it out thorughly with throttle body cleaner
