tranny troubles
I'm new to the forum and already solved two problems by reading some of the posts. My 99 f150,4X4 w/5.4 auto was having trouble between first and second during normal driving. Transmission shop replaced "an actuator spring" today then decided to keep it after roadtesting it. Said they ordered a new valve. Truck is still under used dealer warranty. Anything I should be aware of?

As for the initial problem, the tranny was hesitating prior to entering second gear then would enter with a distinct kick. If you babied the accelerator the problem was minimal or non-existent. I just got the truck back from the tranny shop. The transition from first to second is markedly better, but not complete and now there is a kick as it re-enters first from second. Supposedly they replaced some type of valve. Have to call in the AM to tell them it's not right and make a new appt.
