The gas guage on my BII doesn't work and the oil pressure guage always registers low. The local repair shop indicates that the oil pressure is good and that there is something called a 'slosh modulator' behind the dash that controls both guages. They say that it need to be replaced.
What is this? Where can I get a replacement? Is there an easy way to install a replacement?
Just took a look at the wiring diagram for my 95 Taurus & there actually is such a thing as a "slosh control module" On the Taurus it's wired to the fuel gauge & to the low fuel warning lamp, but it has nothing to do with the oil pressure gauge.
Take a look in your Haynes manual, it will tell you how to pull the instrument panel. If you plan on doing any other electrical repairs you might want to order an "electrical & vacuum troubleshooting manual" from www.helminc.com It will save you a LOT more then the 30 bucks it costs & if there is a connection between the slosh module & oil pressure gauge on your B-2 (not likely) you will see it in the wiring diagram.
