F-300?
There is an older used Ford truck in my neighborhood for sale and the badges say F-300. Anyone know what years this truck were made? I haven't been able to connect with the seller yet to find out any information.

Now I'm goning to reveal my age. Through the mid 70's the trucks were called F100, F200, F300. In the early 70's Unleaded gasoline was introduced, It was more expensive than leaded gasoline. In order to improve air quality, the goverment required all new cars to use unleaded fuel only (1975?). In 1976 the requirement for unleaded fuel included the 1/2 ton pickups (F100), as this was based on GVWR. However, by marketing a heavy half ton truck, Ford could sell a half ton truck that used regular leaded gasoline (its GVWR was over the federal limit for unleaded fuel, this truck was called a F150). Soon after, in the late 70's the trucks were relabeled F150, F250, F350.

F-300?
Interesting, I had a 1966 F250. Best truck I have owned, but uncomfortable and no air conditioning. Neat thing was it had a 352 V8 that towed a heck of a lot better than the 89 F250 with a 460 I just got rid of for my F350 PSD, now that is a truck. I could also crawl all around in the engine compartment of th 66 to service it.
