Need some suggestions guys. I really like my truck, but I look at all these other trucks just seem like they look so much better than mine. It feels like mine doesnt have as much of that "offroad" feel or something like others that i see, even though it is lifted and what not. Any suggestions that might make it look better/ more functional? (please nothing like sfa swap or anything...too much $$$ at the moment). Thinking about selling my rollbar and the bfg at's i got on there now, and my old aluminum wheels and buy a set of bfg mt's or some tsl radials. I kind of like the way it looks with a rollbar, but lately doesnt seem very practical if i were to put lights on it because every where i go trail riding at, the low hanging branches would rip em off instantly. Hopefully getting a new rear bumper soon to replace my bent up one, hopefully a tube one to match my front one. It may sound dumb but i like the way those prerunner trucks look with out tailgates...was thinking of doing it myself, but been hearing some crap that without the tailgate, if i were to flex a lot the bed sides would begin to bend inwards over time? I dunno sounds weird too me. But yeah dont wanna sound stupid but i guess just anything you guys would like to suggest...just trying to get some ideas, thanks. Oh and heres a link to what my truck looks like now... https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...p?userid=73858

well, i dunno about looks, but personally get rid of those tires and wheels. go get your self some 35" in an MT tread and some nice 15x10" BLACK steel wheels with a 2.5" back spacing, it will put your tires out much more giving you a better stance, and will look real cool too difinately go the a new rear bumper, get a nice truck box and mount 4 flood lights on it(two on each corner....you know, so that one faces out and on faces back) mount some flood lights on that brush gaurd, run all your diff/tranny/transmission vent lines up higher, get a snorkel kit so you dont suck water, you can use one off of a Discovery.... http://chrisb.users.superford.org/Projects/Snorkel.html and ummm......i think that may cover a lot of it. oh, if you have rear blocks, get rid of them and go with a shackel flip, fishy will tell you about that im sure.
oh yes, i forgot, locker!!! or spool it....spooled my front and i love it. there is a big thread about this just look around. you may just want to LS both axles too, preference really. locked works much better, but LS is much more practical on a DD.
The purtiest Ford looks like crap on a tow strap behind a Chevy. Are you showing this truck or driving it?
I second Idio's suggestions: Get some good tires and lockers if you really like to offroad your truck. Bling sucks when you're stuck in the mud. Your truck doesn't look bad. Sure, could use a bumper but that's no biggie. I think you'd be surprised how big a difference some serious offroad tires will make as far as looks go . . . and they're functional. Lights on that front bar would be cool too.
To be entirely honest, the body is too straight. Looks like a "show truck", you know, the "my truck is so great, it can do this it can do that, but what I consider four wheeling is putting it in 4x across the grass" look.
Here goes:
-Ditch the lightbar.
-Ditch the black-out lenses.
-It needs real tires, or at least something with RWL's, it'll offer some contrast, make the truck look better
-Ditch the lightbar.
-Ditch the black-out lenses
-You need a real rear bumper, or at least one that kinda matches the front.
-Ditch the lightbar.
-Ditch the black-out lenses
-The "black on black on black" really doesn't do it for me, it just screams "poser" at me. Dunno what it does for everyone else, but nothing for me.
-Did i mention to drop the lightbar and blackout lenses?
BUT, i also do have to agree, who cares what it looks like it can do if it can't do. make it do, then make it look better. Just get rid of the lightbar and blackouts NOW .
the lenses are illegal anyway arent they, i agree, no lenses, keep the roll bar, as long as its real, and mounted correctly, ie, it will actually work if you roll the truck.
as forr form over function, i disagree, a capable truck does not have to look ****ty. my truck looks very nice and it will do a hell of a lot. it can look good and still be very capable.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about good looks in a truck but if you've got limited funds why waste them on crap that looks good but won't improve your function any? You don't have to beat the truck up or anything, but spend the money where it will make a difference.
One thing that I think makes any truck look hard core is a winch on the front bumper . . . but then again there's the $$.
No offsense, but you guys seem to be acting like my truck has never been wheeled before, or never will. I didnt say all of looks, quote myself, i said function also

Also the black light covers have already been off for a couple months now. And the black on black, how does it make my truck look like a poser? There isnt even any bling on my truck. Only thing chrome is the stock f150 badges. Ford made it that way from the factory all black, called the nite edition. And i like the black wheels cause there cheap, and look good. Body is too straight? I got tons, and tons of scratches to prove its been wheeled before. Maybe not dents yet, but thatll happen soon because i really couldnt care what happens to the body. Thanks for the suggestions though guys...

If it were my truck, I'd go with the BFG MT.....good all around tire. You are right on the tree food....lights up that high never work. I'd sell that roll bar as it isnt really functional and doesnt look good (IMO). Stick with the black rims....they are cheap and easy to fix if they get messed up.
Also, I dont personally like those tube bumpers up front.....so I'd get rid of that.
Remember, this is only my opinion....nothing more.
Sounds like you have a good plan for your truck. Good luck.
Good lookin truck to me, looks like you might be able to go to a 36 or 37 inch tire. I'm not really a fan of that body style Ford, but I would build up the 302 to give it a little more juice. Besides that I would get rid of the bar on the front.
I'd probably slap a couple lights on the front bumper and make/get a better rear.. I like the black on black stuff. I don't have a problem with a light bar, but it would be cool if it double as a rollbar. I hate head light covers.
the real question is: what do you do with your truck? Anyone can say "spooled front and rear with 40 inch swampers", but if you drive mostly on pavement, you have to figure out what you can live with, and what you can afford to break.
A set of good mudders would be a start. Personally, I think BFG mud terrans are too soft for me and too expensive for what you get.
