Synthetic Oil

Hello,
Dealer just installed oil, Since new I have been using 10W30 Mobil 1.
They installed a 5w20 product.
Should I remove and go back to 10w30?
5.4L with KB Charger and replaced right head for blown #2 plug.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your in either a bitterly cold climate or an extremely hot climate. Otherwise the oil's viscosity is within the middle of the range. A lot of people say a 5W oil is actually better because it is a little thinner and helps to lubricate inside engines with very tight tolerances. However, I read an article that stated thinner oils are actually worse because of all the additional additives that must be added to thin the oil.

Personally, I like to stick to the mfg specs.

You say your DEALER installed 20 weight oil in your truck???
I can't remember if I've even SEEN 20 weight engine oil...where the hell did they get it? I've never heard of anyone putting an oil that light into an engine. I've been around and in all my dealings with cars/trucks/motorcycles/boats, etc. virtually all internal combustion engines take either a 30, 40 or 50 weight oil of some variation...EVERY dealer should know that.
I will probably be ok but if it was me I would change it out just for piece of mind (or tell the boneheads that put sewing machine oil in your truck to change it out...ONLY if you watch them closely!)

5W20 has been the recommended oil by Ford, and Honda for awhile now.
