OK.. I'm tired of dead end web links. You can get price data on tires from just about anywhere, but shocks are another story it seems.
Has anyone found the hands down cheapest place for Bilsteins and/or Rancho's and/or Koni's. These seem to be the preffered brands for the Expys, so I may as well use em. I'm not particular to any brand, but don't want to waste my time putting junk on the vehicle.
With about 60K miles out of the OEM's its time to change.
Gotta agree w/ jettfuel... offroadwarehouse.com had the Bilsteins in stock, their on-line ordering works, price was right, and they shipped the same day. Can't ask for more than that.
www.offroadwarehouse.com is the least expensive I've seen currently for Bilstein heavy duty shocks. Six years ago I was glad to pay $95 for them when I found them, and I've never regretted it. They are a great product that lasts and lasts.
I'm due for shocks myself on my 98 Expy. From what everyone says Bilsteins are the way to go. So if ordered on line, do you guys typically install them yourselves or take them somewhere to have them installed? What's involved with the replacement? I assume getting the old ones off could be nasty. All comments welcome.
The fronts take some muscle to compress the shock and get it positioned. The driver’s side rear is a little tricky. The upper bolt is above the gas tank. A long extension took care of it. Really didn’t take long at all.

I'd say you are about 50,000 miles overdue for some Bilstiens. Try em, you'll like em. That and check to see if your front sway bar links are still attached - it's overdue for them to break off.
