Im running around 450 on my pyro mounted post turbo if I wind er up real tight im up in the 850 range. I have an 02 with 1705 micro tuner on the third program and 4inch complete magna flow exaust is this normal
sounds pretty normal, you might want to move that pyro pre turbo though, the temps will vary with boost, the more boost, the farther apart pre and post turbo will be.
You can run your pyro where ever you want. Just remember that if you run it post turbo you will have ADD about 350 to the reading. Post turbo will give lower readings than pre turbo because the turbo will cool down the exhaust fire, and that is its job to cool the fire. Good luck in the world of oil burners. Take pride in your ride .
I run 800 degrees at 80MPH with a pre turbo sensor. I've heard there is a 200 degree difference between pre and post turbo. Yes a cold air intake will help your EGT, it will probably make a 50-100 degree difference.
There is a 200-300 degree difference in the readings, pre-turbo to post-turbo, at cruise. When you're at cruise isn't when there's a potential problem. It's when you're accelerating hard, with a load, up a hill, that you'd see a lot more of a difference in the readings. The pre-turbo probe will give you real-time readings, while the post-turbo will be much slower to show the increase.
It would be very dangerous to assume that there's a 200-300 degree difference across the board.
