Shaking on start up from engine

Today when I started my 1995 F150 to leave work I noticed a shaking from the engine. I pulled out of the lot and drove for about 5 minutes which was about 2 miles. It was shaking so bad that it seemed like not all of the cylinders where firing. My shifter (manual trans) was shaking all over the place. The more I pressed the gas the worst it got. So the first chance I got to pull over I did. I stopped at a gas station and called my dad, he said he would meet me half way. So while I was on the phone I just let my truck continue to idle. It seemed to idle ok. I let it idle for about 5 or 10 minutes and then when I got in to drive away all was normal. It was sure wierd. I replaced some vacuum hoses which where cracked. I don't know if that was the problem or not. I sure hope it was. Any clues? Thanks Fred

If it was not your vaccum hoses then I would take the next step
and tune the engine with all new plugs, wires, cap & rotor, & filters.

It is very possible that you had a plug fouling out, not sparking, or even had a plug wire arcing on something.

Thanks for the reply. I put a full tank of gas in it today along with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. I have about 35,000 miles on the plugs. I think it might be time to change them again. Same mileage on the wires too. Thanks again, Fred
