Heavy Duty?
How do I know if my '89 F-250 is the heavy duty version? It has a full floating rear axle, with a Ford 10.25 inch diff. The gross vehicle weight is 8600 lbs, and it has a 460 under the hood. It seems heavy duty to me, but I'd like to be sure. Also, how do I know if my front drive axle is a Dana 44 or 50?

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 25-Oct-01 AT 12:40 PM (EST)[/font][p]My dad has a 1989 F-250 4X4 light duty. It has a 302 with 5 speed, 10.25 semi-floating axle. The GVW on this truck is 6060 lbs. The light duties did not come with the 460 (only 302 & 351)I do believe.
I would say that your is a heavy duty with the full-floating axle and 8600 lb GVW.
