Cool add-a-leaf

I'm thinking of about having an add-a-leaf put on my 04 f250 3/4 crew cab short box. I only have to lift the front end 1 3/4 in. to make the truck level. I want to put on 33.12.5 16 tires. Has anyone done this? any problems or advice you can give me before I do this? tire rub issue? I was told this will work fine.

Its very simple to do, just be aware that add-a-leaf equals ride-like-crap. Makes it very stiff.

You probably will find that a 33/12.50/16 isn't available. I wanted that size for my truck and I had to get a 305/70/16 because I was told a 33/12.50 was for 15's or 16.5. I would make sure you have a 10" wide wheel for the tires. Add a leafs are a stiff ride thats for sure.

Would adding a leaf ride any different than when you install a lift kit that has 5 leafs? Would a hanger kit be better? I haven't seen much info out there about just getting taller hangers that would raise the front level with the rear. Is there such a thing?

A lift kit with five thinner leaf springs in it will flex better than the 1/2" slab of steel that is your typical "add-a-leaf". You'd be better off just adding a normal leaf spring from a junkyard set than a normal "add-a-leaf".

amen. The 5 leaf set up is what I have, it rides good.

All trucks ride better with a load.....um well the real trucks do at least, not these car-like trucks.

Pro said it. its the way the leafs are cut and bent that make a 5 leaft lift spring ride and flex 10 times better than your average stock spring with an 'add-a-leaf' which is a spring that is about as think at 2 normal springs and makes it so that the spring wont flex as much....making ti stiffer...

A 12.50 will fit easily on an 8" rim. You don't need a 10. Just make sure you have the proper backspacing on your wheel so you don't rub spindle arms and other items.

These might be junk, but i've seen some of these ad-a-leafs that use those rollers on them and are not supposed to do anything unless you actually put weight in the back of your truck.

Anyone know anything about these??
