Here, I believe, the highest octane is 93. Will my truck see much difference between 87 octane compare to 93? I here that some say there's no difference and some say so.
you won't notice any difference on a stock engine. the only difference with fuel octane ratings is that the higher rating takes longer to burn. this is so that in higher compression engines you don't get pre-ignition (detonation, pinging) under load because the fuel is lighting on fire before the sprak plug fires. when this happens the two flame fronts meet and cause a pinging noise which can mean death to your engine
Using 93 ocatne will not harm your engine. It won't necessarily help it either. If you are not experiencing pre-ignition or detonation (these are commonly called "pinging" or "knocking"), you will not realize any noticeable benefit by moving up in ocatne ratings.
I suggest you visit http://www.chevron.com/prodserv/fuel.../supreme.shtml
and http://www.shelloil.com/ and find the info on gas and octane.
These sites give good info on octane and fuel requirements.
I believe that detonation (the actual sound) is caused from the fuel igniting prior to your pistons reaching top dead center, therefore causing your piston to jerk or bang as it hits TDC and begins its downward revolution. The only advantage to the higher octane fuels is that they contain additional additives designed to clean your fuel system. Save your money though, on a stock motor. I believe your manual says to run a minumum octane rating of 87. Your trucks fuel system is engineered and designed to run at this octane level. If you desire to run 93 and are looking for a boost at that level, than do as Joe says and drop a 93 tuned chip in your truck, the difference is night and day.

p.s. Joe, looking at your times, we would have had a very competative race at Houston. But, unfortunately, you would've beat me
I think that's kind of humiliating and degrading to the pistons, don't you? Is it a straight up open fisted slap, or is it that french style where the glove is taken off and used as a humiliating slapping device???? (most embarassing)
