You guys are scaring me!! I joined this forum so that I could swap stories, and tell everyone how much I love my new F-150. Not talk about how much a piece of junk it is. Not everything is perfect. I just gave up a 2002 BMW X5 to get my F-150. Anything that is mass produced in quantities like that, there are bound to be some problems. Also if you bought your truck from a dealer who only sells 50 cars overall a month, of course they won't be able to fix it as well as a dealer that sells 500. I had a 97 Explorer, problems. I had a 99 Expedition, problems. And I still came back to Ford. I don't want to have to "watch" my odometer and wonder when my truck is going to break, I just want to enjoy it. And if something happens, it happens.
Now where is everyone who loves their truck come hell or high water?!?!?!?!
I love mine, no problems at 3000 mi. I'm sure the people with no problems out number those with problems 10-1. But problems get posted more. I can feel for those who spend 30-35,000 on a truck of their dreams and then have trouble, it must be very frustrating.--Jack
Hey, you've got my truck, ... just kidding. That's the exact truck that I'm planning on getting.
Don't worry, this site is better than you are thinking, righ now. People are people - if you buy something you want it to be perfect, no problems. But like you said, with mass production, some problems will sneak through. While the talk about problems seems negative, it's really a good thing. Those problems will get circulated, fixes will be circulated and hopefully FORD will get wind of them and make the necessary changes.
So, hang in there and give this site a chance - - good surfin'
The more I drive it, the better I like it. Got it two weeks and 1,200 miles ago. I traded a 2002 Tundra and immediately noticed how much better the F150 performs. It's so comfortable and enjoyable.
I no longer have the wind to fight as I travel the interstate. The Tundra was a constant battle in a cross-wind. The F150 is SOLID. The F150 also: is QUIET, feel smooth over rough hignway, doesn't lean in sharp corners, and etc...
I can't say how good the truck is, because I continue to find it improving everyday I drive it. Is it perfect? Is anything perfect? It's imperfections are few, minor, and correctable. Am I glad that I purchased this truck? YES!!!
Bought mine in mid December and I have had no problems.... It has been said here before, the more you drive it, the better the performance and the more you love it. I am still turning heads everyday. I just love to drive it..... Gas mileage is improving as it gets broken in.
I think everyone is right. If I were having a "problem" this is where I would post it. But you are right, we need to post the praises too.
I've had mine about 1 month, 2900 miles. Great riding truck, quiet and smooth. I've had it in snow and ice a couple times and it handles great. 3.73 limited slip/ FX4. auto super crew.. I'm going to hook up a 5000lb travel trailer to it. I'll let you know if it will pull it. Mileage has been 15.5 to 17, which is better than my 6.0 Diesel I just sold. Jack
At 4,000 miles everything is positive. I haven't experienced any of the problems mentioned. Remember, if just a very tiny percentage of F-150s have problems, that is still a high number considering how many they sell.
Had an oil change this morning, and the technician didn't want to give it back.
Can I think of a problem? Only one.
I am leaving for six months in Iraq, and don't know if I can last that long without my truck. Sure, I'll miss my wife -- but I REALLY want to take my truck with me.
I bought my Super Crew Lariat the last day of October. The first truck I have ever owned. Really a super vehicle. My wife even likes it and she drives a Lexus lx470. The more I drive it the more I like it. And yes, that is a three hundred horsepower engine under the hood. No problems, no problems, no problems!

I ya want I'll hold on to your truck for you so it does not get lonely lol Seriously thanks for serving and good luck in Iraq.
I love my truck too....But I'm not beyond complaining about a few things.
The lack of engine "zip" or "pep" due to the electronic fly-by-wire system is frustrating. It seems to take forever for this engine to wind up.
The weird vibrations and shimmies felt throughout the chasis make me wonder how this thing will feel at 100K miles.
The defroster is pathetic. Constant fogging and blind vision in the rear seating area. Cold spots on the driver's windshield, right where you need to see. To make it worse, the driver's wiper leaves about 4-5 inches of uncleaned area, blocking vision even more.
Then the little things; like lack of illumination on the 4X ****, interior/cargo lights ****, mirror adjustment *****, radio on/off ****, etc. Hard-to-read speedometer marks. Moon roof cover that doesn't open all the way. Plastic gas fill cover. Irritating auto-lock feature which requires you to remember to hit the unlock button twice to let the rear passengers out. Same old Ford rattles and squeaks. So-so paint.
If we didn't complain about our $trucks$, there would be no reason for Ford to improve on them. We'd still be driving Courier's and Luv's.
