I am in the market for a new muffler for my 5.4 f-150. I know I want a flowmaster muffler. But what is the difference between the 40 and 50 series. I don't want something so loud I can't hear the radio. What's best?

Hi and welcome to the forum. 
The 40 series has two chambers and the 50 series has 3. The 40 is a little louder than the 50, but with the 4 factory cat converters, it isn't overly loud.
I have a #430402 (40 series) on mine with dual tail pipes out the rear. It has a nice rumble, but you can talk normally and hear the radio fine. I love it.
