HD AIS Filter
I installed the heavy duty air filter system (motorcraft) on my X. Anybody have any ideas as to how long the filter is good for?
Also, the kit had no instructions as to how to clean the special filter. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have read 12-16K miles depending on environment in which you operate.
I have about 4K on mine and it still looks new top, sides and bottom. Of course I'm doing all pavement driving.
Have to use your best judgement on when to replace I guess.
You don't clean them, you replace them.

As for life, Ford brags about 30,000 miles+ I guess that also depends on where you use the truck.
