I have been checkin ou this hole at a local BP, created by truckers in the parkin lot, hit it today, becuase of the hard bottom i thought i could make it in 2WD, well the wheels started hopping abotu halfay through and i popped it in 4WD and mad eit abotu 4 more feet. Totally devasted I was defeated by a hard bottom hole I dropped in it in Reverse back up got up all the momentum to drive right through....Can I get a *sigh* of relief, call me a Dumb Teenage but I love it too much.
When is somebody going to announce a fun spot to play on Spokane.
If you get a chance check your diffs for water. You may have to drain them and refill lube. Never know where that water will end up when you go playing in it.
Sounds like fun man, get a truck load of dirt, dump it in there and stir it up.
I hate to pick on you, but if the hole was caused by truckers, how tough can it be? An 18 wheeler can't exactly make it through rough stuff!
Now to add the responsible adult point of view.... Yes, it's fun to do stupid stuff, but if you are in the public eye please refrain. The people around you at the BP don't see the fun in driving through a hole, they just see someone in a four wheel drive vehicle making a bunch of noise and a big mess. The way trails are getting closed all over the country, four wheelers as a group should be on our best behavior all the time. If the majority of the voting public see offroading as dangerous, irresponsible, and noisy, then we won't have any place left to go.
How hard can it be? Well other Z71's made the hole deeper, cuz i see them at night all the tiem going through it. And 18wheelers cant go through the hard stuff? How about the logging trucks...you gonna try to tell me they dont go through BAD stuff? I seriously woulda made it thorugh if I woulda started in 4WD but if that wouldnt of worked that "thing" Ford calls an engine is the weak link. Not everyone has a Big honkin 460 to pull through the stuff, or is that another weakling too? So dont tell me about bad places....
Call me chicken but I never hit deep water without being in 4wd. I just don't like the idea of loosing momentum when half my truck is under water.
P.S. Ivan, your avatar disturbs me. I used to like Quizznos before they started running their "roadkill hampster" commercials. Now I just don't seem to have an appetite for their sandwiches.
Ah hell, leave the poor guy be. Who here hasn't done something dumb in his truck? Jeez, just about every story I have starts with," There was this girl..." or " I was drivin' down the road and.."
"Or there was this girl i was driving down this road with, and you'll never believe it!!! she...."
Or something like that.
Worst one i have is where i had to get a tow truck. My friends will never let me live that one down. AT least the towtruck got stuck too, and he didnt even attempt what i was in.
Originally posted by fishmanndotcom i think you just need to learn how to drive b/c i could get a 2wd I-6 through a hole like that!
