Has anybody ever tried on of Vortech Blower For Carbs system on there ford? It can't be that hard to switch over onto a Ford, Check out the Site and let me know if you think its do-able on a 351.
The supercharger will work on the Ford no problem, it's the accessories that won't. The mounting bracket and crank pully won't fit. Also the piping won't fit unless you get the SC to mount in the exact same location as the kit.
Depending on your mechanical ability, this could be easy to overcome or it could be hard.
Well, I have a welder, so I'll just Fab up some brackets, as for the pully, I'm sure i can find one around somewhere. This thing sounds good, It should make a killer street machine out of any vehicle. As soon as i get the money, its goin on
Dude, thats a dumb idea to put it bluntly. Do this, get a ford type setup, with the correcty brackets for your engine. You don't need the discharge tube or any of that. Then get a k&n bonnet, or similar bonnet, and make a piece of aluminum or steel piping going from the blower outlet to the bonnet. Much better idea, and you don't need the accessory parts....you can get any setup for efi and convert it without too much trouble....but its a lot easier this way that to try and convert brackets or make your own.

I'm with n2o88. You do know you can buy the vortech box separate as well if you dislike the carb bonnets?
Ya, I've been changing my mind about supercharging my ford. It would be cool, but this time I think I'll keep the rebuild simple, but i have some other vehicles that one day might get a supercharger turbo, I've been reading up lately on those junkyard turbo's and with a somewhat stock 302 people are running a miniumum of 12 secong in the 1/4 mile. Pretty sweet for some cheap add on's that add up to no more than $5000 for a 12 sec car

I've got less than three grand in an entire car that will run twelves on motor. The jy turbo thing has been done so much, its not as cheap as it used to be. Still a very cool way to go though.
Jimbo, I don't know what you mean by it not being cheap. Used shorty headers, if you don't use stock 5.0 headers, such as the bbk's sell for $100, the turbos are $75 at the yards near me, or about $150 on ebay. Thats for each t3. Then its just around $150 in piping without an intercooler, and you have a setup on the cheap for under $500.

I said "not as cheap as it used to be". As in most of the T3's and decent jy intercoolers have already been picked in my area. People are charging more for the turbo's, parts are harder to come by, etc. The JY thing has been popular in Texas since the early nineties, when you could get all that stuff for a song, and there was more availability.
