Talking Steve's Volare Clip update

To all those who have helped and chipped in, many thanks to my many new friends here in the group.

FYI Steve's update pics

Here is a link to a quickie built web I put together that updates everyone on my Volare clip progress.

If the "top hat" of the motor mount looks familiar, it should. We hacked off the top 3 inches of the existing mounts (see the WIP photos for what we started with) and welded 1/4 inch steel to it.

The No limit video was an excellent resource. I really like the part where they say "at this point we're about 3 hours into the project" What I budgeted for was 6 hours worth of work with my welder buddy. 22 work hours later, we be done!

all the best.

Ya know, good looks aren't everything.

You can not see it in the pics but one item we forgot
to check & recheck was the height of the A arm. A few dents here, a little grinding there. Looks like I won't have to CUT IT ALL OFF AND START AGAIN

Suggestion for those attempting this project. Make a GO/NO Go check list (which I thought I had in my head) from the measuring points on the No Limit video. If I had done this I would have had the item about A-Arm height down on the list as a milestone and would not have missed it.

food for thought.
