Question Power Sliding Rear Window

Does anyone have or have seen the power sliding rear window? Is it the same idea as the Toyota Tundra Quad cab?

I have a power sliding rear window on my F250 Harley version. I really like being able to open it from up front and create a breeze/airflow without opening the side windows. My wife likes to not have her hair blown.

It goes side to side, rather than up and down. I would recommend it on a crew cab.

Ok, so its not like the Toyota then. Its just a power version of the manual one, right?

Available in the aftermarket. Search C R Laurence; a company in LA that's been making sliders for eons. Made some O.E. ones too....still do maybe

Probably $300-$400 installed. SD's are an easy DIY install because they still have the old-school rope-in rubber gasket. At least I think they do, mine's on '01. The 150's have a urethane bonded window so it would need to be cut out with a special tool at an auto glass shop and the new one bonded in with urethane adhesive. Same process as a windshield.
Try a truck accessory or camper shell store. If you've got a SD, search online and install it yourself. You wouldn't believe how easy the rear glass will pop out of an SD!

Correction, 150's have a bolt-in rear window; simply remove the mouldings, unbolt, clean up sticky mess of sealant for an hour or two, and install. Easy! Don't know what the new 150 has....Chebs & Dogs have bonded rear windows.

I checked on the C R Laurence for my 03 last summer and they wanted between 900 - 1200 bucks depending on which place installed it.

Way! way! too much!!! If you bought it I hope you let them buy you dinner and a dance before getting hosed. Sorry for the crudeness but places like that ought to be put out of business. But then again, at prices like that they'll put themselves out of business. You can get an inbuilt sunroof installed for less than that. If this is for an SD, which I assume it is because of the forum you're in, I'd search the net or E-bay or whatever and find one for an SD. It's called a CRLaurence PowerSlider. Don't ask me how I know all of this......
Nobody corrected me so I assume the '04 SD's still have a rope-in rear window (rubber seal). Trust me on this, there isn't an easier installation for a rear window. For a first timer it should take no more than thirty minutes to install the window plus time for the electrical hook-up. Instructions should come with the window. If not, they're probably in tech within this site. If you can't find it there holler at me and I'll write it up.

CR Laurence. I got a manual slider. No leaks, matches the manual transmission.

Knew you'd be out there somewhere 578. I'll let you in on a secret.....don't tell anybody.....Before starting my sign company, I spent 20 years in the automotive window industry as an engineer and manufacturing director. Developed sunroofs, truck sliders, electric underwear, microwave toast, diesel-powered toothbrushes....all kinds of neat stuff. First 8 years of that was as a direct supplier to Ford. Spent 12 years with the last company........Owner sold the business to CRLaurence 3 years ago...tried to sell me to them too......I refused to move 80 miles to LA....stayed put, started the sign biz and never looked back. Got real excited when I saw the post about the rear slider though.

I 've had 2 CR Laurence sliders, 1 in my 1999, and 1 in this 2003. How about you give me a rebate? Ok, I won't tell anybody. They try to sell you to them? Who would ever buy a used V10DoubleTow? Probably a well used one at that since you've been in business for at least 20 years. Well, anyway, the CRL stuff is of good quality and doesn't leak even at the high-pressure carwash. (Even though I haven't been in the car window business for 20 years.) If you need service on an IBM mainframe though... 9 years...
