289 hipo
I wanting to build a motor that is close to the specs of a 289 hipo. I have parts like the exaust manifolds and intake. But what is the orriginal camshaft specs. Like lift and duration. I cannot find any one that can tell me the cam specs.

lift was .460 and duration was 310 remember this is advertised duration. If my memory serves me properly I think the 289 HIPO peaked its horse power around 6000 rpm so I'm going to "guess" that duaration at .050 would probably be aroud like 230-235 and LSA probably around 110. Also remember that the 289 HIPO was a solid lifter motor.

The part # is C3OZ-6250-C. Intake timing-opens 46*BTDC closes 84*ABDC @.050 opens12*ATDC closes26* ABDC. Exhaust opens94*BBDC closes 36* ATDC, @ .050 opens 36*BBDC closes 22* BTDC. Lobe lift was .298 valve lift .460. Overlap 82*, adv. duration is 310*, mechanical lifter cam lash was .019".
