Once they get your money, they don't care. Don't be alarmed. ALL big business runs that way.
I sued GM over paint delamination earlier this year for a 1993 Chevy pickup which began flacking in 1996. They'll try to hide it and put stumbling blocks to stop you, but persist!
After Los Angeles County Court, small claims, ruled in my favor, GM appealed. The local paper got wind of the story and GM decided, in its best interest to settle. With that money, I bought my 2002, F250.
Ford, as well as GM, doesn't care about customer service, just retail sales. The sooner we figure that out, the happier we will be. I think when your case starts to hit their pocket book, they will listen.
Be the "squecky wheel."
Good luck, my man!
All of this talk makes me want to restore my 1978 F-250 even more. I am slowly losing faith in my favourite auto maker's ability to turn out decent vehicles. I used to consider myself a diehard. These days I am not so sure. My next step would be Dodge, followed by walking, then crawling, then GMC.
Well, I just went over 10,000 on my 2002 V-10 Crew, 3.73 rear. Took delivery Sept. 9 and have had no complaints to date. Began using Mobil 1 at 3500. My combined driving with capped bed full of Xerox parts, tools and manuals has been around 13.5. I get closer to 15 if I back off to 60 mph. I bought a cap from A.R.E., the "Z" model, which makes my truck look like an Excursion on steroids. Just sold my '90 F-150 that had 336,500 miles for $2500, so I plan to keep my current Lariat quite a while. I love the smell of leather and the ride is quite nice even with the camper pkg. My only complaint (?) would be the longer wheel base takes some getting used to, turning radius of an aircraft carrier! I recommend the back-up sensors if you plan to do a lot of parking. I find they start beeping at around 8 ft. and go solid tone at around 15". The AC is quite sufficient for Florida and, believe me, early September is still cookin'. I got the true blue and have only added a bug shield and window vents. I found an excellent compromize in the new model I bought. I can't stand rock chips and Love-bug splatters, but hate the lousy aerodynamics of the more aggressive ones you usually see. I bought the Lund "FrontRunner" deflector. It goes on with two-sided tape and I really like the look it gives. I have gotten many positive comments from total strangers in parking lots as to how nice my truck looks.
All in all, I might have bought a truck built on Wednesday. Or else the problems some folks have cause them to want to vent. I know I would if they start to happen to me. Just that, so far, so good. Enclosed is a "Before and After" picture of my two trucks..
Keep Truckin', ya'll!
