Exclamation I now have the reality of owning a "Ghost" truck

Well I have been with the forum sence I purchased my truck back in Aug. 03. I have been blessed so far as not to have had anything real drastic happen with my ride.

Well, this has now come to a end.

Last week and a second time today, my truck while in traffic ,(going less than 25 mph) just stopped running! I know some of yall have had the same situation but I can't recall what Big "F" did to address the problem or if they were able to come to a remedy in fixing it.

It's just like I turned the key off--period-- then I'm able to crank it the next second and it runs as if nothing ever happened.

It would be great if someone would share with me what they have learned in this reguard. I would like to think when I go to the dealer I might have a fair idea what I'm looking at.

Thanks

I belive that it is the wiring harness chaffing on valve cover bolts. this seem to be a problem with these trucks.

Back to the harness, left front valve cover.
Have it checked.

check the sensor under the turbo, the 03 had a lot of problems with that sensor getting hot from the turbo and killing the truck.

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY before posting

Go to this thread, read completely…. Follow, on page 3..MLF250’s format, it is good…and easy! and post. Important update to instructions on page 6.
Most important part of this data...also, there “is” owners out there that have had no problems. To be fare to my methodology… I need the same from the “no problem” owners.. i.e. mileage (mileage is the odometer reading)
important a “no problem” statement if you have had none.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate.
Do not need many words, NO stories.
I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=185570

I implore all 6.0 owners to please take the time

Thanks
Tim

What I'm concerned about, is my turck runs fine and I'm getting 17 combined mpg at this time with 8800 miles.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE FLASHED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Also Bikerdogo how does it run after the flashes?

I have had some power loss with the reflashes, But I don't know if it is winter fuel. If you tow a lot and like the tow/haul mode, the latest reflash changes the downshifting when in tow mode.
