Has anybody replaced the antenna on their F150 with a shorter one? Mine keeps banging on my garage door at home and the parking garage at work. Are there any good replacement antennas out there and if so are they easy to install. Thanks for you input.
I have the same question. Sorry I don't have an answer. Picked mine up on Saturday and I cring every time it bends back and clangs when I enter/ exit the garage.

Works great. Just a matter of unscrewing the old one and screwing in the new one. Took about 2 minutes.
How does the shorter antennas effect the radio reception. I looked at both the Billet & Euro Style on line. They both look sharp. I'm just wondering if one has better reception than the other. Thanks,
Dan
On my '03 I just cut off about 4" then put the cut off section with the little ball on it in a vise and used a slap hammer type tool to pop it off. Get creative - it comes off fairly easy. Watch it though as it (the ball tip end) may fly across the garage floor. Then file down the OD of the remaining antenna top a little as it's tapered and may not fit initially. I used a speck of super glue to secure it. I spray painted the top a bit and it's been good for over a year. It had no effect on the reception at all.
