Hi I am a newbie at doing things to my truck no my own so please help!!!
I am trying to get the after market wiring out that was connected to moy CD changer in my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport.
It is coming up through the bottom of the big compartment in the center consol. Anyone know how to tak ethat consol apart so that I can remove the wiring???? I would greatly appreciate any response as I am trying to learn!
-Another question just in case someone knows...I had a switch installed so that I could turn my cigarette lighter on and off so it isn't always hot. Anyone knwo how to access the lower power opint so that I can try to swap the switch connection? Thanks everyone!
Just yank it out carefully. It's pretty eas as long as you're careful. I'm sure you can install a switch for the power point. I don't know how though. Sorry about that.
No screws or nothing? is that how the big arm rest with the storage in it works too? cuz that is where the wires end up poking through, the aftermarket changer was installed where a factory one would be. THANK YOU!
-Matt
Well...there are screws. But you don't have to yank out the center console in order to run wires into it. There're a couple of holes fo wirings. I did that when I installed my Kenwood changer in the center console.
