Hey guys, i have an 89 F-250 351 with california emisions. There are 2 plastic things on top of the engine that has to do with emisions, and one of them melted. Can i just rip all of the emisions stuff out of there? Cause i dont live in california anyway and i dont even know why its on there. Could it have somthing to do with my catilitic converter? Should i hollow it out? I dont really think its the cat because i dont have any loss of power? plese help!!
Give me more information and I may be able to help. With that fuel injection their is alot of plastic around that engine. Be more specific, and I'll walk out to my truck and try to compare. I have the 460, but other than the actual metal engine, I should have whatever plastic doohickies you have.
I know whet you mean about those emissions doohickies. I bought my 87 f250 351w in Wyoming and every emmisions vacum line has been removed and plugged. The cat is gone and it's running straight pipes. My area might move to a smog check next year and I don't know where to start in replacing all this stuff. If any one has any suggestions on a step by step emmisions system replacement referance I'd like to know.
Anyone know where I can get a Catalytic converter for a 2001 F350 6.8L DRW. Someone stole it in the middle of the night. The ones I see are all EPA / Federal not California use. maybe who makes one and the part number.
