Steering Wheel
I'm looking to change the steering wheel on my Super Duty, to the SVT wheel that comes on the Lightning. I've gotten different/conflicting reports from several sources as to whether it will fit my truck. Has anyone upgraded to a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and if so, could you provide a source/part number.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Dec-01 AT 06:47 PM (EST)]If you just go to the Ford parts department and tell them that you want the leather wrapped steering wheel for your SuperDuty, they can look it up and order if for you in the color you want. 
As to whether the F-150 steering wheel will fit your SD depends on whether or not Ford uses the same shaft diameter and same number of splines where the steering wheel. Only the folks at the local Ford parts desk will be able to give you that answer.

Ford does not offer a black leather wrapped steering wheel for the 2001 F250 SD. They offer two colors, med praire and med parchment. karkraft.com is offering a black leather wrapped steering wheel(ford lighting SVT)they say will fit the F250/350 SD's, they were not able to provide or verify the ford part number for that steering wheel. They also said they have one installed on their F350 SD and the picture they advertise the steering wheel on is a SD interior.
The ford PN for a 2001 lighting SVT black leather wrapped steering wheel is XL3Z3600-AAJ. I talked with two different ford parts and service departments about the compatability of PN XL3Z3600-AAJ being used as a replacement on my 2001 F250 4x2 SDSC and I got the dear in the headlights look over the phone.
Is there any ford smart service/parts people out there that can give a yes or no answer as to the compatability...Please advise...
