Power window noise

The passenger side window in my 01 Expy makes a noise like a haunted house door whenever it is rolled up or down. Could anyone get me started on how to go about fixing this? Thank you for your help in advance.

Does it seem to be out of alignment? Does it hit or bind anywhere when going up/down?

It could be slightly out of alignment or possibly the motor is going bad. Either way, you'll probably have to remove the door panel to fix the problem.

The window movement seems to be ok. Does not hit or bind, just makes that noise all the way down and all the way up. As far as removing the door panel, will this be explained in a Haynes manual or could you point me in a better direction? I thought that might be the way to go.
Thanks,
Bryan

Haynes should direct you, but if it doesn't try a search of "door panel removal." The procedure has been detailed several times. It is relatively easy once you uncover the hidden screws. Just remember it is removed in an upward fashion, not outward.

Good Luck.
