I have a 1997 F150 and was going to hook up one of those adapters with the pre-amp outputs so I can hook up an amp. All I need to know is which wire is the remote wire? I looked it up but I quickly found out ford's colors are different. Any help would be great !
I appreciate the information so far. So if i understand , the remote wire is also the ignition wire? I dont have any of those books so does anybody know what color the ignition wire is in a 1997 f150?
If it's an aftermarket deck it's not the ignition wire, if you have it hooked to the ignition wire it will be on no matter if the radio is on or not, but if it is the factory head unit, then that will probably be the only way to go.
If I am not mistaken, the 97 f150 uses the 98up verison of connectors. Pull your deck out and see. If thats the case then its the Black with pink stripe, If it uses the old two flat cables, it will be a blue with black stripe on the gray connector.
